Applied Arts Curriculum

6th Grade Knitting and Stitching:  Students learn to knit and stitch.  In knitting, the girls learn the knit and purl stitch, how to cast on and off, to increase and decrease, to create a sampler.  In stitching, students will learn some basic cross-stitch, crewel and needlepoint stitches to complete a project.

7th Grade Quilting:  Students learn to cut and piece fabric.  They also learn color and pattern placement and techniques unique to quilting. 

8th Grade Sewing:  Students will learn basic techniques of sewing, reading a pattern, and functions of a sewing machine.
