Today we examined the work of Bea Nettles with an exhibition tour, followed by a close discussion of her photo "Pack Up Your Troubles." Students and staff were asked to think of a word or phrase representing something we would like to "pack up" and get rid of; those words are represented graphically here:
This afternoon, we learned about Bea's Found Poetry project, and searched our homes for images of words that we would like to use in our own poems. We assembled a collection of word photos and then each student wrote an original poem using those words. Stay tuned for images of the finished products!
